I have IBM P70 monitor for 5 years now without any problem. Last couple days the monitor starts to get real bright for several seconds and back to normal. Nothing changed recently. I also checked the cables to make sure they are tight. Does anyone know why? Thanks.

I think the flyback transformer is failing, but it might be the electronic controller failing...
