im building two computers for a church and they want two laser printers to go with it. both computers will be in the same office, so i think thats a little stupid. wouldnt it be cheaper for them to get a router and one laserjet? both computers will be running xp home. i was thinking about the HP LJ1012, but cant tell if it can be networked. how would you do it?

Itchy and Scratchy #1325,Itchy plays Scratchy's skeleton like a xylophone; strikes the same rib twice but clearly 2 different notes sound. are we to believe that this is some sort of magic xylophone?
Edited by tdean on 04/14/04 00:16 AM.

Shouldn't even need a router. Simply connect both PCs with a Cat5 crossover cable, setup the 'home' network using the WinXp wizard and share the printer from the PC it's connected to.

Yeah, but that way he'll have to have 2 PCs running all the time, which might be not the case sometimes (don't ya think). So it is much more better to get a networkable printer and run it through the hub from both PCs. That way either PC can print no matter if the other is switched off. And the plus side to this, they can expand their PC base and keep one printer for all of them still (which is much more easier to maintain).

..this is very useful and helpful place for information...
