Geforce4 Ti4600 or ATI Radeon 9500 Pro

Have you checked out the VGA charts? The GF4 beats the 9500 pro in a very few benchmarks..........what games do you play?

I am putting together another system & I will be using a Sapphire Radeon 9500 PRO & it is based on money. If they had very close hardware specs & very close prices, I would go with the GF4 Ti4600, because nVidia throws out much more updated drivers every year for all their GPUs/cards(although not all their updated drivers work with all systems).

Right now I feel the Ati cards are the best in their price range & out perform the nVidia cards. This trend is going to stay for most of 2003, the GeForce FX looks to be just a Loud, power hungry Beast throwing out a lot of hot air.......it still does not best the ATi Radeon 9700 PRO in most benchmarks. Maybe the GF FX will be faster after nVidia releases better drivers.

Good Luck in your choice, both are very good cards, but check out the VGA Charts & look at the benchmarks & base your choice on the benchmark that you trust/use.

Why do you want to believe me?

Yeah I checked the VGA charts. It seems as if the Ti4600 beat the Radeon 9500 Pro just about in all the benchmarks cept when they started to apply 4x FSAA and 8x anisotropic the Ti4600 loses it's place.

The question now is, is 4xFSAA and 8x anisotropic really going to make a noticeable difference when playing games?

Stock speedss on a 9500 Pro are 275 (core) and 270 (memory) i run mine at 360 and 315. The performance between an OC'd 9500 Pro and ti4600 will be extremly close without aniso or fsaa on, with the ti4600 slightly ahead. But with either of them on the 9500 blows the Gf4's away with a 10-gauge. Plus it is directX 9.0 compliant.

yes i can tell a big difference with fsaa on/off and aniso looks better too.
