Neverwinter Nights crashing

Anyone else had a problem with NwN crashing in XP?
I have both Shadows and Hordes installed.
XP has every service pack under the sun.
All the latest drivers installed.
My system is an AMD3200+ (2.2 Ghz), 1.25GB ram with a 128MB Geforece
mx4000

NwN can sometimes carry on fine.
Recently though it just keeps hanging, then XP crashes out to the
desktop.

ideas?
hints?
