I am buying a new computer for an audio werkstation and am STILL confused over hard drives.

this latest test in toms
http://www6.tomshardware.com/storage/20030204/index.htm...
sugests that that there is no real advantage to SATA but its GOT to be faster than my current baracuda 4 ata 100 right?
My problem is track count in my daw.
surely the 8 mb cach alone would make the baracuda 5 faster.

Please help.

An 8MB cache will make any drive faster. I can't speak for the SATA, as I have no info on them, but I recommend you get a drive with two things:

An 8MB cache.

A 3 year warranty!
