Hi, sometimes when my brother is playing WoW his connection will randomly drop and the Windows trouble shooter will pop up to fix it. It saud bad name or somthing..what causes this and is there a way to remedy it? I'm using an older Linksys BEFSR41 router (wired) and a Win7 network. The PC's are connected to a HomeGroup.

Most games require you to connect for online use via a very specific port. If you use another port it will cause you all kinds of problems. Check with WOW to find out which port they want you to use. Enable that port in your router and you should be fine.
