Ok, so I thought I might try BitPim one more time with my 5300. Disabled ZA
Pro. Downloaded the newest beta v0.7-test8. Changed the settings to Com 5,
which is the USB port.

The log says the connection between the phone and laptop is good.

Comments from the log show:

12:56:40.473 COM5: Opening port COM5, 115200 baud, timeout 3.000000,
hardwareflow 0, softwareflow 0
12:56:40.483 COM5: Open of comm port suceeded
12:56:40.483 SCP-5300: Attempting to contact phone
12:56:40.493 SCP-5300: Retrieving fundamental phone information
12:56:40.493 SCP-5300: Phone serial number
12:56:40.493 SCP-5300: Getting file contents 'nvm/$SYS.ESN'

So, how long does it take for the data to download from the phone to the
cellphone. After 5 minutes ... nothing so far.

Nevermind folks. Seems that a reboot of the laptop & putting the phone into
PC-Sync (even though the instructions say this isn't necessary) did the
trick ... Nice little program. Especially with the ability to plug in
Calendar events on the fly.

Bob::who will be adding a lot more phone entries during the next week::
