I've been playing GOTHIC2 for a while....but not got very far into it
.....came across an import for the add-on Night Of the Raven at a nice Ebay
price ...installed it ...and the English translation Mod...

But now I find I have seriouly confused myself in that I sort-of-assumed
that NOTR would be like (say) a Morrowind expand...where the original game
would still be available to play with the "add-on" a new addition to be
started when I choose.....
Should have read the reviews closely shouldn't I....NOTR is more like a
complete re-write of the basic GOTHIC 2 ...I can't understand weather I
should start again with the NOTR and forget the original (which a made a
copy of to another folder with all its game saves/settings).....or weather I
should regard NOTR as indeed a "new and different" game to be played after I
have finish G2..
I understand the NOTR is much harder and I want to continue enjoying GOTHIC
(& I'm not that good or practised an RPG 'er).....any Bunny help/suggest
please (to this group).........

I would start fresh with the addon. It's not a sequel but it does add a
new area and give you access to becoming aligned with the water mages. It
fleshes out some of the quests in the original G2 that previously felt
unfinished. It never felt "much" harder to me but combat was rebalanced.
To that end the weapons do different damage amounts as well.

Hmmm. I thought they were going to release a Gothic 2 Gold version with
the add-on in English at some point.
