Turn wifi off from computer?

Hello,

I am connected directly to the modem with my computer, is there anyway I can turn off the wifi? I have an annoying sibling who likes to scream all time, I just want to disable wifi sometimes then be able to turn it back on

If your modem connects directly to your computer then you don't have WiFi , to have WiFi you have to have a wireless router. What does someone screaming all the time have to do with turning WiFi on or off ? The post as you wrote it isn't making any sense you need to explain it more.
