Cas latency?

Hi, can someone tell me how can i check the cas latency of a RAM module?

Your BIOS might have it listed.(Depends on your motherboard)

What if the SPD chip reader hangs all the time?
I've got a Asus a7v8x with Kingston DDR 3200/400 but it scores really bad when benchmarked. I think there's something wrong with the memory. I also tried memtest(checks for problems with mem) but it kept going forever.

Sounds like it.

What benches have you run and what scores are you geting. Another one that you can run is <A HREF="http://www.geocities.com/bum_jcrules/stream.zip" target="_new">STREAM 2.0</A>. Run it in a Command prompt window or by itself in a DOS only setting.

If your bandwidth is terrible, which is what STREAM benchmarks, you can rule that the RAM module could be bad. (Or the DIMM is bad.)

Let's see what you have to say and how the bench looks compaired to regular results.
