I really appreciate the knowledge you guys have and could certainly use some help.
I need to setup an IPSEC vpn to the office.
I've tried to research this a number of times but never felt comfortable with my results.
If I just use the same device for my vpn as for my regular router at home then EVERY device will have access to the VPN and visa-versa. I don't really think my wife's iPad needs VPN access so I don't want to do that.
Would a vlan solve this issue?
I'm thinking not but I really don't understand the purpose of vlans...
My existing router is a WNDR3700 running stock firmware. I could put DDWRT on it if it would help.
I have an old WRT160N and was considering throwing DD-WRT on it for the VPN router.
If I have to use a second device the VPN device would go in FRONT (directly after the modem) of my LAN router, correct?
