I tried to istall win xp to friends computer and almost lost my mind.Here goes i came to the point where it needs to be decided which disk to install win.I created partition and suddenly i got a blue screen which says error bla bla at some adress bla bla please restart.So i tried again and it did it again.
I also tried win 2000pro and win98se it is the same.
Deleted and re-created partition NOTHING
Computer
Gigabyte 7va-c
Athlon xp 2000+
256 ram DDR333
maxtor 40GB

Use a W98SE boot disk form <A HREF="http://www.bootdisk.com" target="_new">Bootdisk.com</A> and get into a: and type fdisk. Use it re-create the partitions.
 
I assume you are using a blank HDD?
 
If not, use the floppy to run a scandisk.

It was the MB which has some failure.I got a new 1

interesting. IDE controller corruption possibly.  I had some of that happen to me.
