Hi People

I have been recommended this group by my teacher (HND music prod) so
please excuse my naiveness and or lack of knowledge on the subject. I
have just bought a Yamaha o1v and a Soundscape mixtreme with the
ss810-3 breakout box. I have been trying to do some research on the
soundscape but somehow it doesn t seem to be all that popular as I
expected. My problem is that the O1v Tdif I/O handles 8 channels and
the mixtreme handles 16. since the ss810-3 connects via tdif cable to
the card, that leaves me with nowhere to plug in the o1v so I was
wondering if there is a possibility to connect both the o1v and the
ss810-3 to the one mixtreme so I could have 8 ch of digital via the o1v
and 8 ch of analog via the ss810-3.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback on this

Thanks in advance
Owen

They never made it very big (more popular in Europe than in the US)
but they had some very good products. Mackie bought the company about
4 years ago, sold the Mixtreme as well as a larger system for a couple
of years, then sold it back to the original owners for a pittance.

Sydec still makes the Mixtreme line and still does support.

I don't have any documentation for the I/O breakout box, but as I
recall, that connector on the card isn't TDIF, it goes to the breakout
box, and the box (if it's the right one) has the TDIF cables on it. I
also seem to recall a basic model Mixtreme card that came with a
breakout cable that has two TDIFs. You might contact Sydec and see
exactly what it is that you have, and what you need in order to do
what you want. You have to register on the web site in order to get
access to the Support section, but it's free and they don't bother you.

There should be no problem. Be sure to set only one device as a master
clock.
