Outlook 2010 folder content not shown

Hello,
In the leftmost column where folders are displayed, my folder shows Foldername (6) indicating there are six messages in that folder. When I click on the folder, it shows no content.

The number in brackets indicates unread msgs and normally only appears beside 'Inbox' and 'Deleted Items' (When you hit the delete key so fast it's not read...) So how you managed to get unread msgs in another folder defies logic for me! But then I have an older version of Outlook, so perhaps there's a difference. Meanwhile there is a dedicated Outlook Forum here

Think I'd be tempted to re-install Office if it continues to misbehave...

With the problem folder selected;

View Settings
Filter
Clear All
OK
OK
