primary hhd fails

hi,
when i somestimes open a program the pc restarts and i get a message saying primary hhd fails, till i restart the pc then it hhd works . what the problem ?? i used sisoftware sandara 2002 and it says my hhd settings are not good what that mean ?althought i have loaded the best settings in the bios. is there a utility to fix this??
