Hello All,

In a previous post I inquired about changing mobo's without changing my hard drive. Since my hard drive is partitioned into two parts, C for boot and programs, and D for data, can I format partition C- then install win2k on that partition without losing data on D? If so, how do I do this? Thank you all very much in advance for your help. This community is wonderful!

Yes. Windows will see 2 partitions as separate drives. Just remember don't format the partition that you want to keep its data.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

yep. done that many times...
though bear in mind if you have installed programs on D then they stay of course, but the registry info about them in the OS gets nuked... so they may not work properly or at all.
