Hello,

I hope Wusy won't get angry with this silly question. I'm about to upgrade to 756Mb pc133. I intend to disable the use of pagefile.sys, i.e., virtual memory.

My system:
- ecs k7s5a
- athlon 1300
- 256 mb pc133
- geforce 4 ti4200 64mb ddr
- 40 gb 7200rpm

some games don't run smooth: mafia and mohaa expansion are two examples.

Way to go? Opinions are very welcome.

Disable executive paging... so that all of the memory is used first before paging happens.

even so your games still will probably run jerky as many applications (especially games) need at least a minimum amount of swap file allocated.

I did that, and checking Task Manager, I have 367MB of Commit Charge, and the available physical mem shows about 290000MB, which means it is not being used entirely as the reg hack would have done. Damn it, I wish it would.

Has anyone tried setting up a ramdrive and having the pagefile swap into it?
