OC Sytem is advertising PC2700 DDR333 (166MHZ) CAS2 RAM.
Don’t believe it !!
I just received this RAM and it’s been re-labeled !
It’s plain old PC2100 CAS 2.5. All they did was slap a copper heat sink on it and put
their OC Sytem PC2700 sticker on it.

SANDRA see the DIMMs as, “PC2100U-2533-750(CL2.5 upto 133hmz CL2 upto 100mhz)”.
BIOS SPD (serial presence detect - eprom) also identifies it as PC2100 CL 2.5

Trying to run this RAM asynchonously at 166mhz will cause lockups and "illegal operation" errors!

DON'T GET RIPPED OFF!!!

Yes, we knew this, or at least some of us did.

Yes, if you need high speed memory buy Corsair, if you need a more common speed, buy Crucial.

I've received several replies off-line, and it seems there's a few besides me who have strayed from Crucial.
....Live and learn.
However, if you are one of those who feels the same as I do, (that merchants should not get away with re-labeling a product falsely), I suggest you do as I did, ...File a complaint with the FBI IFCC. (Internet Fraud Complaint Center.

Perhaps if we all complain, then the proper authorities will respond.
