Dear Sir

my isp provided static ip via cable modem.

ip = a.b.c.d subnet = 255.255.255.254 = /31

but the router does not support subnet mask saying wrong subnet mask

can you please provide solution or work around to use same subnet mask gievn by isp

Why do you want to use /31 subnet mask? This will enable only 2 valid internal IP addresses for subnet. Are you using point-to-point link? I would change the subnet to /29 (6 client per subnet). So the mask would be: 255.255.255.248 instead of 255.255.255.254. You do not need to stick to the /31 subnet mask, the /29 will work fine.
