Toshiba wifi button

My TOSHIBA Satellite L850D laptop wont let me on the internet. I go to the networks on windows 8 and it says WiFi off. I have tried f8 and f12 but nothing is happening. I have heard there is a switch on the front of the front of the laptop but i cant find it?

Maybe one of the other Function keys has the wireless icon printed on it or maybe they need to pressed at the same time as the Fn key to the left of your spacebar. If there is a physical switch, it will be very tiny indeed.

I have a Toshiba L500 and I don't see a switch of any kind on the front or front edge of the laptop. You can try holding the Fn key located next to the Windows key and pressing the F8 key which has the wireless symbol on it, together at the same time but only once because pressing it again turns it off.
