Hi,

I have a Dell Dimensions 2300 that currently has 512mb RAM. It has 1 Dimm 512mb chip. My documentation says I can upgrade to 1gb, so that would be 2 512mb chips. I was wondering now that 1gb dimm chips are out, can I upgrade to 2gbs of RAM even though my Documentation says the max upgrade is 1gb? I was thinking maybe the 1gb dimm chips werent out when they wrote the documentation and that maybe I could still buy the 1gb chips and that they would work. But I was wondering if there is anything else I need to consider?

i doubt it will support 2gb. it depends on the north bridge tho.

also why do you want 2 gb of ram? there is nothing out there that will use that much ram... nor will it speed up your pc.

Ok thank you. Oh I wanted to get 2gb of RAM cause I thought it would help when Everquest 2 comes out.
