I have an ASUS RT-AC66R and am having random connection drops. Everything is default with the router's settings.

Here is a recent log with MAC address removed.

Jan 7 17:51:00 dnsmasq-dhcp[555]: DHCPINFORM(br0) 192.168.1.102
Jan 7 17:51:00 dnsmasq-dhcp[555]: DHCPACK(br0) 192.168.1.102

Jan 7 18:09:02 dnsmasq-dhcp[555]: DHCPREQUEST(br0) 192.168.1.114
Jan 7 18:09:02 dnsmasq-dhcp[555]: DHCPACK(br0) 192.168.1.114

the notify_rc : restart_diskmon is a common sign, not sure what it is.

So the wireless connection just randomly dropped too. (where my laptop was no longer connected at all but the network was still visible just not connecting).

Here is the log on that.

Please note how I had to update the time because it went from 2pm to 7pm but I learned that when the dnsmasq is happening the time is always 5 hours ahead.

Solution
So after adjusting a setting, which was switching the channels from *Auto* to always on channel 11, which also made it switch to 40MHZ as well. (I could of done 20MHZ but no reason for me to). Connection drops and lag issues seems to have subsided heavily.

Well the only thing that I've tried recently is changing the Channel from auto to 11 and making it always 40hz which happen automatically after i changed the channel anyway.

But i am still getting the same

notify_rc : restart_diskmon
disk monitor: be idle

every now and then
