How to make my desktop wifi

Hi ya'll, how do I make my desktop wi-fi and connect it to a cell/smartphone so that I can play my favorite online games and get rid of the satellite internet (Hughesnet) I have. I also want to connect another computer this way (husbands desktop) and I'm wondering if I need 2 phones or can I just have one. I'm running windows 7 and he's running Vista. neither computer has bluetooth, so if I need to make that happen please explain. I'm not a computer moron and have done some research but you guys seem to have all the great knowledge on these topics.

first of all see if your cell phone supports tethering. Depending on your Phone provider they will change your service plan when using tethering. T-Mobile and AT&T charge I believe $20 a month extra

tethering will create a wifi hot spot through your cell phone.

to connect to the hot spot you will need a wireless network card for each computer.
