I am wanting to run ethernet to several rooms in my house. My current setup is I have a Linksys N900 (EA4500 model) wireless router connected to my modem. The Linksys has 4 ethernet ports on the back, 1 which goes to the desktop right next to it. I am wanting to run ethernet into two other rooms in my house, one room contains a desktop as well as a home server, the other room contains another dekstop. My main question is can I plug 2 more ethernet cables into the back of the Linksys and run those through the walls into the rooms or will I need to get a switch?

Yes, you can, but if you need to run more ethernet cables, you can do it with a switch. Please bear in mind that if you want to add a switch, you have to reserve an ethernet port for it.
