Your question

Linksys BEFW11S4 cannot connect

January 9, 2013 6:41:41 AM

Hello,

I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 I have been using fine for years in the states. I never had a password to allow users as I wanted my clients to be able to use it easy. I used the default SSID name: Linksys

Now I am in Cambodia and was told that I should put in place a password. I started using the instructions here

http://www.whitehats.ca/main/members/Cerberus/secure_li...

and got to the point where I said apply and got a message that it had been successful. I changed the SSDI: to lagal. However, I never got to the 2nd page where I add a password as the power went out.

Now I cannot get on the wifi at all. I can connect directly via plugging my computer right into the internet line. Nor does the linksys admin panel at http://192.168.1.1/ work. I get the error message "The server at 192.168.1.1 is taking too long to respond." However it shows the wifi of lagal in my list of wifi connections available. But, when I try to connect it asks for a "network security key" and I did not get the chance to do that when the power went out.

So, as far as I can tell the wifi is working but I cannot access it as I did not enter a password and cannot enter one now.

I tried resetting router but that didn't get me anywhere. And now I cannot move around the linksys admin panel either. Anytime I try to do anything on it I get an error message that it's timeout.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for the help :)
