Very true, what Phill said.
I think it's safe to say, though, that someone coming to one or more
cellular service newsgroups and touting pagers was being a bit
argumentative from the start. Hence the "contest."
Usenet isn't exactly known for ignoring such challenges

There is a single answer, I've owned both a pager and a cell phone.
If people want something FROM you, get voice mail and a pager. You can call
them back when you feel like it
If you run a business and have to answer customers' calls, get a cell
phone.

As Robert said, there "is no ONE SINGLE ANSWER."
In my job, it's imperative that I have BOTH forms of communication.
