So I just built my new computer and, as you can tell, I'm having internet difficulties. I'll explain the whole story so that any one who could potentially help me knows all the details.
When I first built my computer, I didn't realize I wouldn't be able to connect wirelessly. So I hooked up to the ethernet cable for a few days until my usb wireless adapter arrived. The adapter is a pretty nice one I believe: a Powerlink Hermes 2.4ghz. Here's a link:
Anyways, I hooked this up to my build in our office room BEFORE moving my setup back to my own room and installed the drivers. I ran a speed test, and right next to the router, I had a real nice download speed of 37 mbps with only 14 ping.
But, when I moved everything to my room (all the way across the house) I instantly had problems. My download speed was 0.02 mbps and upload was only .21, and my ping was 131. Not only that, but my laptop's download/upload that was working fine 10 minutes before became virtually nonexistent. I have plenty of connection (a full 5 bars), and it says, "signal strength: excellent" but this is clearly not the case. Please help! D:
