Hi,
I´m looking to purchase a new printer asap but haven´t been keeping up very much with reviews and so forth. I´m looking for something able to print mostly text (a lot is mostly in 'economy' mode to read rough drafts)but every now and then print fotos off the digi cam in good quality. I had my eyes set on both the Epson R200 and R300 (I´m not quite sure of the difference between the two, is it only the display?) I read they produce very good quality photo prints and I like their usage of 6 cartridges but I haven´t read anything about printing documents or text. If anyone can point me towards any better printers around this price range for these tasks or any opinions about the epson printers I´d apreciate it.

You probably oughta look at a Canon i860. It only uses 5 ink cartridges, but it is fast and prints escellent quality text. Do not underestimate it's abilities as a photo printer, either. It makes excellent prints. It was made with people like you in mind.
