Can 4.1 speaker plays 5.1 sound

My question: can a 4.1 speaker set plays a 5.1 quality like sound? with EAX, dolby all those? with the help from soundcards like santa cruz / creative, is is possible?

Well you can simulate it. A few years back,Someone advertised "Simulated surround". Or something like that.What the did is they used the TV for the center Speaker. I tried it.Got a bit of a echo.It was the delay between the TV and the 4.1 ( prologic 1) systom.Was ok for the time..For a PC? Well?? Let us see where this goes.
