I'm an IT guy for a small municipality. They want to make audio recordings of their meetings, and have them end up on the server. I'm trying to figure out how to do this with a minimum of setup and post-processing. I'm also an audio guy, so I understand a lot of the tech issues.
One idea I had was to use a USB mic connected to USB to LAN converter to connect it to a computer that was authenticated on the network, and have recording software write the audio file to the server.
I'm using a Windows Server 2008 with Domain-based authentication. The network is running through a Cisco Catalyst 2960 switch.
I'm curious if anyone thinks this is possible.
