What does it mean on the motherboards "dual channel memory"? does it take any special set up to install the ddr.? Thanks Bruce

It simply means the mobo has two separate memory channels instead of one channel that we are familiar with. This will help to double the memory bandwidth.

There's nothing special about setting up dual channel memory, just install two sticks of ddr.

It does matter on which slots you install them. 2 slots are controlled by one controler and one slot is by another from what I understand. With my motherboard it is slots 1/3 or 2/3 for dual channel

Yeah you're right, and some mobos have different colors in their memory slots to remind users not to insert the pair of RAMs into wrong slots.
