Hey Folks,

Here is my story: I just built a new system with the following stats:

Athlon 2800+
2x512MB Corsair XMS3200LL Memory
ATI Radeon 9700 PRO
HighPoint 133 Raid Controller
2 WD 120GB 8MB Cache HDD
Plextor CDRW 48x
Sony DVD 48x
A7N8X Deluxe
Antec TRU420 P/S
Lian-Li 6089A Case (4 fans)
Slot Cooler

Here is the problem. My computer is unstable when running any 3D application. I believe I have narrowed this problem down to the power supply. I tested each memory module individually, and they all appear to work without any issue. The CPU has no issues that I can see. The motherboard appears fine.

What finally tipped me off was I pluged my old Enlight 300W Power Supply into my new motherboard, powering only the CDRW drive, the motherboard, the graphics card, and the two hard drives. It ran the 3DMARK2001 benchmark 8 times in a row without a hitch. Ultimately, when I plugged my Antec TRU430 back in, with all components, it began to crash again in 3D aps (games, benchmarks, etc).

Is 430W not enough to power my system, or do I just have a defective power supply? Any comments are greatly appreciated!!!

Defective power supply...Rma it and get a new one. 430 is plenty...

I agree. 430 Watt is good enough for you system. There is
something wrong with the PSU.

I would check for a loose connection before replacing the supply. They can be tightened by prying them _slightly_ with a jeweler's screwdriver.
