Latency @ 266Mhz

A quick question for you gurus....

I'm planning to purchase to the MSI MS-65656 MoBo (aka GNB MAX)

It supports 266Mhz DDR, which would normally be PC2100 with a 2.5 latency.

But I'm interested in better latency than 2.5.

I've read here on this forum that if you take a stick of PC2400 and run it at 266Mhz the CL is 2.0. Does anyone know the CL @ 266Mhz for DDR PC3700, DDR PC3500, DDR PC3200, DDR PC3000, and DDR PC2700?

Bonus question: What is the lowest latency that can theoretically be achieved? How would this be done?

there is plenty of pc2100 that can run cas 2 latencies...if you are looking to overclock your memory then I would look toward the pc2400 or pc2700 but if you arent then stick with the pc2100. I suggest either mushkin pc2100 or crucial

I'm not looking to overclock anything at all. I'm looking to be as stable as possible.

I would like to get my CAS Latency under 1.0 just by running a high end stick of memory at a much lower 266Mhz. Is that possible?

go to the bios and try to lower it. if it does not boot reset the bios and no harm will come.

NO it is not possible.....there is not a bios even available that allows for a cas latency of 1....there are only a few that allow for a cas latency setting of 1.5 (including mine) and it will not run stabley....the best you can hope for is a setting of cas 2-5-2-2
