Haven't seen many (if any) great reviews of 52x24x52x writers and Lite-on loses some of its luster in this one.

Guess I'll keep waiting.

True... 52x just seems too fast. really should have stopped at 48x.

I mean that's only one review but as an example it seems to me Liteon 40x drives did much better with review ratings of 9/10 or even 10/10. The 48x drives maybe 9/10. Now the 52x have dropped to 8/10 with this review. For what, a difference of 20 seconds in full-disc burns, 24x rewrites that are slower than 16x rewrites, and supposed good media compatibility yet many writen discs on various brands of media have large amounts of errors?

If I were in the market now I'd buy a 40x12x48x Liteon with which quality meant as much as performance.
