What drives and how many of each are you running on that system?

(HDDs, CD-ROM, CD-RW, DVD-ROM, etc.)

This is also probably a power supply problem.

What ar the Ampere ratings on that PSU?

3V=?
5V=?
12V=?

I especially want to know the 12V rail. My guess is that you are using too much on that little PSU. My guess is that your PSU is a 6A 12V rail PSU. We'll see with your response.

The CPU has two levels of Cache. If the CPU does not get enough power they don't work right and can give you crazy memory errors that have nothing to do with the DIMMs.

Listen to the bum, he's probably right. 230W is not nearly enough power even for the simplest setup. Lack of power can cause weird errors, freezing, and all kinds of things. Also, If you still are looking for a solution, try to set the compatible defaults for your motherboard.
