VISION PLAN QUESTION

I recently upgraded from a Samsung N400 to a Samsung a620/VGA1000.

My plan includes vision (vision premium pack) for $15/mo for
UNLIMITED vision.

I now have a camera with the built-in camera and am able to upload
pics to the pictures.sprintpcs.com site. I have since uploaded a
few pics with my new phone. I have not changed or modified my plan
(I do want to keep what I have).

My question is: I have the premium pack, not the pictures pack.
Because my phone is able to upload pics, but because I have an
unlimited vision plan (premium), are there extra charges involved
with this (uploading to the sprint pictures site)?

It's pretty confusing to understand what is or what is not included
with my vision. I am hoping someone can help me.

I know when you download from areas where there is a charge involved,
you usually get some kind of a notice that you are bing charged.
However, do you get a notice if you are being charged for uploads?

Thanks in advance!! I am a longtime Sprint customer, and usually have
no problems understanding the concepts. However, the vision plan
descriptions are pretty confusing to me now!

When I changed to a camera phone the rep changed me to the picture pack,
said it was necessary to avoid fees.

I see no difference in vision but have sent many pictures and no charges.

Does it cost more?

Why doesn't 'unlimited' vision include the usage of bandwidth to send
pictures?

And I'm planning on getting a video phone. Will they have separate packages
for videos?

No extra charges with the premium pack for uploading pictures to your vault.
As for the reduced cost between these two options, first off I'm not sure
whether the Picture Vault comes with the Pictures Pack. In addition, with
the premium pack, it offers access to Vision to cruise the web on your
phone, messaging, and also a $5 credit every month for downloading ringers,
games etc, from SPCS's site.

it's getting confusing again!

i thought with the pictures pack, you have unlimited uploads with
your camera phone, and with the premium pack, you would be charged
with uploads (not sure though, that's why i asked). i just changed my
vision pack to be sure (from premium to pictures pack).

it's basically the same thing, right? only with the pictures pack,
you get less download credits(??)

help! is there anyone who works with sprint who can make this clearer?
yes, the website describes what you get with each pack, however,
there is nothing stated about what happens if you try to upload
pictures with a premium pack (like if there's a charge, etc)

The web site no longer mentions the $5 credit.

- IS the web site in error?
or
- Has the credit gone away?

Either way its a SprintPCS issue

I would venture a guess that the website is in error. The credit is
still listed in both the newest Free & Clear and Fair & Flexible pricing
brochures.

No, it's not an issue ... Go through the motions and sign up for a plan.
Click on the Vision Picture Pack. The $5 credit is still listed there.

Unlimited Vision does allow you to send unlimited pictures! I have
unlimited vision and went to the website and added the picture mail for 5
bucks a month, but since I had unlimited vision it just got bundled in.
There isn't really a 5 dollar a month charge. That's only for folks that do
not have the vision packs we have.

Ok, so I can do video too? I just want to make sure unlimited means unlimited.

Sprint PCS has pulled the "unlimited means unlimited only in certain
situations" stunt before, as have many other companies.

The Vision you must have is "Vision Pictures Pack";
and not the Vision Premium Pack or Vision Professional Pack

I just checked my plan online. It is the Sprint PCS Vision Premium Pack.
I've sent tons of pics and videos. There are no extra charges if you have
this pack.

You've had some pretty decent responses. Just thought I'd toss in my
$0.02 worth.

Not with the uploading itself, per se. However, Picturemail, when
you've got the Premium Pack, is $5/month. There's one exception,
though. Even though the N400 isn't a camera phone, we *did* sell an
attachable one for it, and the N400 can use Picturemail with that
camera. So... if you've ever accessed the pictures function of the
phone, and entered a password, then you may have done that from
before the day we started charging for Picturemail. If you did that,
then you might be grandfathered in, and thus pay nothing for it.

>

Your Premium Pack is actually pretty simple: Browse online all you
want, and get up to $10 credit back on any of the downloads you
purchase that we offer. Specialty services, like Picturemail,
VideoMail, Business Connection, those are extra.

It's a flat fee per month for unlimited usage. $5 in the case of
PictureMail. And yeah, you should get a couple of text messages over
the first 14 days warning you about that monthly fee. Unless a
PictureMail account already exists for you.

Yeah, they can be. I mean, it's the Internet, for all practical
purposes. That not and easy thing to define. Not, anyway, in a
usable sense.
