I plan to overclock a new Nforce2 based computer that I'm getting, and I'm wondering if having DDR433 RAM helps for overclocking, even though there is no official support for it.
Sweet! So that's just a marketing rip off thing. I was leaning towards the 400 anyways because its latency is 2-2-2-3 instead of the 433 having 2-3-3-3.
a bit like a good DDR 333 with a bit of headroom can have slower timing and be able to run at 200 mghz (core speed) but this ram will be to the limits and will not be very stable if perfect condition is not meet..The same goes for all DDR 400 it can work at very high speed expect under best codition as canterwood chipset may come only with 2 DIMM (i dont say that this will happen but that can be possible).DDR 400 is standart is new all module on the market dont meet Intel specification. As only 4 module have made it so far and there are state to be release not yet on the market anyway they have to sold actual stock for changing to DDR 400 3-3-3 2.6 VVC
