The game is allmost unbagged!(in Anisotropic)

The planet types are so diffrent from each!
The freedom is fantastic!
The game's interface is huge!
The possibiltys are many!
The Frontier is the Ultimate Galaxy!
The Game World is MASSIVLY HUGE! Over 100 Bilions of stars with thyre

The original is pretty bugged but since 2000
Shareware FFE was relesed with a patch for the game that fixes allmost
all of those bugs
and in 2002 the JJFFE version of FFE
that lets you play FFE on windows and also fixes some bugs (you need
it with the shareware FFE for date files and sounds and the offical
patch)

and there is my favourite version of FFE and also the newest
called JJFFE Anisotropic
1. it adds lots of realizm to the game
2. its a modified JJFFE Version
3. it was out in 2003 (its the latest update and modification for FFE)
4. it fixes some bugs (by now if you play it with shareware FFE you'll
hardly encounter bugs, cuse allmost most of them are allredy fixed!)
5. makes the FFE Galaxy much more dynamic
6. This time th AI shall equip them selves more logicly (all AI ships
are caring shild generators)
7. and much more from this version (read readme for more info about
it)

Here is a download link:
http://www.geocities.com/anisotropic20/

And if you dont like this modification and want a normal FFE then
download JJFFE:
http://www.jaj22.demon.co.uk/

And when you extract the files of JJFFE or Anisotropic then download
Shareware FFE at:
www.eliteclub.co.uk

and place both Versions JJFFE\Anisotropic and Shareware FFE at same
folder

and the game should work excellent even on Windows XP

Dont get overexcited by the original post here - no there is no updated
Elite. Capt Tomer has been putting similar posts on the Elite newsgroup. I
think hes a kid who has just stumbled onto Elite and thinks everyone should
buy it even though we all went through this several years ago!

Very nicely put, Captain.

You see, Stan? Even at 13 the good Captain knows enough not to top-post.

Furthermore, I am happy to inform Captain Tomer that he has been selected
as winner of the prestigious c.s.i.p.g.s-s Poster of the Day Award. What
does he win, Johnny?

So come on then Stan, did you know about the ansitropic version? I
certainly didn't, and I bet there's others who didn't too, so the
Captains post was both relevant and informative, imagine that?

I stopped messing about with JJFFE when I moved to XP a couple of
years ago. Prior to that I had only managed to get it to work on a
laptop running Win98SE (although I tried on a couple of desktops and
got it to run but without sound). Admittedly the sound isn't anything
to write home about - it's even worse than the graphics - but it does
rather spoil things if it's not there.

I still have the laptop, only now it's running Linux so that's a
no-go. If the latest JJFFE runs on XP then it's "Hat's off to John
jordan" and Barnard's Star here I come ... Stand clear for a delivery
of prime Cumberland Sausage."

Okay. Right. "Spam" is out, "Prime Cumberland Sausage" is in. I think

Well don't leave it in too long, you'll squeeze all the flavour out of

I forgot to mention I'm using Mandrake 7.1 as I can't upgrade that box
to anything later. Hey, ho. Maybe I'll install Win98 on the scond
drive. Seems a bit extreme just to play FFE though.
