Is a 300W Enermax PS enough for my system?

I'm upgrading a system for my friend. Here is what I've got;

Asus A7M266
1700+ Athlon XP
256MB PC2100
Diamond Speedstar POS video (didn't get upgraded)
On-Board sound
20GB 5400 Harddrive (didn't get upgraded)
12x10x24 CDR
300Watt Enermax PS

Will the Powersupply be sufficient?

More about 300w enermax system
  1. It should be fine.
  2. Yup. If you had a generic power supply, maybe it would be an issue, but that Enermax should be great.

I want to move to space, so I can overclock processors cooled to absolute zero.
  3. Thanks!
  4. I have a similar system and I use a 350w. You can get away with 300 but if you want to add lots of peripherals like me... or upgrade frequently I would go with a 350.

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!
  5. Should be...

I have an XP1800+ (Palamino) in mine with cd-rw, cd, maxtor, nvidia, and the usual array of fans and such. All running off a 300 watt supply, it's stable as a rock.

  6. With that setup 300W will be plenty.

But if you plan to add a new videocard and more HDs/fans/CDROMs then you might want to go for 350W.

My dual-PSU PC is so powerfull that the neighbourhood dims when I turn it on
