stuck on Startrek bridge commander

episode 6, mission 5.
story line, my ship and some other ships launch an attack on the enemys
home base.
problem: mission wont end :S

Every time i kill all the enemy ships more just spawn in untill i die.
After dieing the 200th time i finaly caved in and got the cheats, in
god mode i've sat there and killed (i counted) 45 enemy ships before i
got fed up and switched it off. every time i kill 3, 3 more would
"warp" in.
how the hell is this mission supposed to end?

It's supposed to end in your retreat. The shuttles are supposed to exit the
atmosphere and warp out, at which point you'll be told to do the same. Are you
running with or without the patch?

The shuttles do exit the atmosphere and warp out, but there it stops.
me and the other ships just sit there and slowly get killed.
I didnt know there was a patch, ill havea look around for that thanks.

Perhaps there is no correct resolution.
