Blue Screen Of Death

Hello Tom's Hardware!

I keep getting a BSOD from Windows. Not sure if it's Memory, Motherboard or Video Card related.

  1. You should try and run a memory test program memtest86 for at least three passes to test your memory. If the memory passes then look to your drivers particularly the video drivers.
  2. Quote:
    Bug Check 0x124: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

This bug check indicates that a fatal hardware error has occurred. This bug check uses the error data that is provided by the Windows Hardware Error Architecture (WHEA).

This error most commonly shows up due to an unstable OC.

Most other hardware failures would throw some other BSOD message, so this error generally points at the CPU or motherboard.

To clarify, you get no other BSOD messages?
  3. I did a memtest with at least 8 passes. However, turns out it was my Sound Card. Thanks for your help!
