HELP connecting WiFi to desktop

Ok so I am stumped. I bought a netgear n600 wnda3100vs wifi adapter for my desktop. I installed it and everything. Now when I try to connect, it finds my router, but for some reason it will not connect. My router is a 2wire that runs on 802.11g. please help me.
