I just found my copy of the game, installed it and am about 6 missions in
after a few hours.

What a great game :) The story is just so well done, so much attention to
detail and the voice acting is actually really good!

So impressive for an older game. Pity we have nothing now that is close to
it.

Though, the constant protect extremely vulnerable cap ship scenario sure
gets tiring after a while :)

Are you high? Really... I want to know. There must be some reason why
teh space game genre ceased to exist, and there must be some reason
people like *ahem* you enjoyed such a boring and tedious title as
Freespace. To the best of my recollection, Freespace was the game that
lead the way over the cliff.

Yes, by all means... lets mourn the good old days when the end was
just beginning. Instead of mourning the good old days when space games
were worth playing.
