Installation of win 7 prof. on P4 SYSTEM

i am getting frequent crashing, after installation win 7 prof. on P4 system.

I suspect, the settings of PROCESSOR OPERATING FREQUENCY, MEMORY FREQUENCY, NO. OF THREAD HANDLING

CAN I GET SUGGESTION THE CORRECT AND RECOMMENDED DATAS

My interest is to run WIN7 WITH P4 processor with 200 to 300 MHZ as clock frequency.
In my computer i have the facility vary clock frequency, memory frquency and no. of threads

can you please suggest now?????
