ddr400 on p4

in the article "DDR400 Kills Rambus:Shooting Star SiS 648 for P4," why did tom's hardware use just 256mb of ram and not 512mb of RAM? whouldnt this have made a difference in performance?

Hard to say, but I'd be carefull. Tom's recommends the Asus P4S8X in one test, a board which has caused quite a few heartaches and headaches in this forum.
