Hi,
First off I had a a460 that the screen died, as did my wife's a460. I
have a bad taste about Samsung's. I hated my reception on the
a460...is the a620 better??

However, has the vga 1000, a620, improved? My reception with my a460
was terrible. I need good reception, and then quality earpiece sound,
finally calander/datebook functions.

The 8200 earpiece volume seems to change during a call...loud, softer,
louder, etc. Very annoying. Also, I did like the a460 alarms, and
the External ID was much larger...as it seems with the a620. Plus the
sound seems to break up if I make it a bit louder...at minimum
sound...the phone is too soft, for me....but the next level up is then
too loud.

The 8200 has a tiny external ID....very hard to read outdoors.

How is the calendar functions on the a420? The 8200's seem
good....but the quality of the earpiece sound might be too annoying
for me.

Help, suggestions!?

Daniel

Sanyo has dropped the ball. The 8100 and 8200 have no way near the
reception that the 4900 had . In a weak area you can her the caller
fine but to them you are breaking up.
Like everything else cost cutting has destroyed a really good phone

I'm very satisfied with my A620. Vastly superior reception to my A460,
and better sound, too. I prefer the A620's sound, both incoming and
outgoing, to that of my wife's 8100, and its external display is easier
to read than hers, even just to look at to see the time. Both seem to
have about the same reception. With the A620, I do have to slide it
around on my ear to find the sweet spot for incoming loudness.

My A460's display never failed on me, but I know someone else whose A460
display failed.

I haven't used the A620's calendar functions.

I suspect the fact that they are now manufactured in China has some part
to play in all of this.

For what it's worth, I've had my 8200 for about 3 weeks now and I love
it. The speaker phone for a cell phone is great, and the earpiece has
been just fine in my experiences.

I don't know much about the a620 but I use the 8200's camera phone all
the time and for a camera phone they look pretty good.

Both the 8100 and 8200 are a real let down from the quaity that Sanyo has
had in the past. I am told that they are made in China but my 2 8100 and 1
8200 are stamped made in Japan. in any case the phones are a real let down

Is it the phone or just the battery that is made in japan?
