My 8100 just got destroyed by my dog.
I was told they don't carry the 8100 any more.
I need to replace it.
Guys what is the best phone right now to buy.
I live in a sparse region as far as receiving signals

I have found that all of them [new] do pretty well. The 8100 IS still
available, as I just saw it at the Sprint store by my house this last
weekend. It is also available at Best Buy and others. I can recommend
the Samsung A680 and the A620 (VGA1000). I assume the Sanyo 8200 would
be good, but I don't know from experience. A co-worker of mine loves
his Nokia 3588i has worked very well for him, even inside large
buildings and in elevators (in the same buildings).

The Nokia is the best bet,. the 8200 is not as good as the 8100 for signal
reception.

Up until last week, I thought my Sanyo 5400 was great, then it
decided not to work when ever it got warm, which it does when being
charged, or after a 5 minute call. Allegedly a warranty replacement is
being shipped to me.
If you liked the 8100, by all means consider the 8200.

Sprint sells two different models of Nokia. Some folks would say the
Motorola is best for remote reception.

Well, some good recommendations have been passed on. The question is, what
are you going to use the phone for, other than calling? Taking pics,
accessing the web, SMS, ReadyLink? All of the models recommended to you in
this thread have different features ... and costs.
The Sanyos are well known for getting a pretty good signal in fringe area
coverages. The new Nokias (released this past year) have received good
reviews also.
Depending on how long you've had the 8100, you may qualify for a $150 mail
in rebate. Check out this link to see if you are -

One last thing, if you do find areas around you where there is no coverage,
you might want to look into adding the $5/mo. F&CA option to your account,
as it will allow you to use up to 50% of all minutes used within a billing
cycle in roaming.
