Purchased my Hercules Gamesurround Fortissimo III 7.1 PCI card (as deciding here) and have one problem with it.

When I am playing sound, it sometimes (1 out of 10 files) sounds crackly when the system (no idea if it cpu, hd or ram related) is active. It can happen when Getright is downloading and I'm playing an mp3 file, or when [file-sharing client] is downloading.

I'm actually happy with the card, but part of me wants to slap my Aureal 2 back in. :frown:

I'm wondering if it's anything to do with my VIA KT133 chipset on my Gigabyte GA-6VTXE motherboard.

A quick run down on my specs:
- 2 x IBM hard-drives
- 1 x Plextor 16/10/40a CD-RW
- 1 x Pioneer 106 DVD-ROM
- 1 x Intel Celeron S370 1.4GHz @ 1.5Ghz
- 1 x 3COM 905-TX
- 1 x Gainward Golden Sample Ti4200 64mb (stock speed currently, due to process of elimination)
- 1 x Generic 350w PSU (I know, have to replace that thing soon :frown: )

Thanks a lot guys!

Windows is like a house of cards... One wrong move and it all comes crashing down.
