Does it matter what size RAM goes to certain slot?

I have a 128 and 256 ddr2100s. I have a gigabyte 7vaxp, which has 3 ram slots. I was thinking about buying an additional 512ddr2100. Does it matter where i should put my ram for each slot? is 128, 256, 512, which totals a weird number of 896 ddr2100, any different from a computer with, like 2 sticks totaling 896megs of ddr2100?
