Buy a colour TV. Black and White is a bit old fashioned these days. ;-)

I disagree. Hold on and wait until they have color perfected first.

Yes, remember that NTSC is an acronym that stands for "Never The Same
Color".

The question came up for me a few years back when my old higher-end (at the
time I bought it) RCA started biting the dust after about 12 years of heavy
use. I decided that TV technology is in a period of rapid development and
change, with dramatic improvements in price/performance being the expected
norm.

Therefore, I bought the best-looking reasonably cheap TV - a 32"
Phillips/Magnavox. My idea was that its basically expendible whenever I
choose replace it, but it will get the job done till then. Nothing that has
happened since then has surprised me, or convinced me of any flaw in my
strategy, plan or execution.

I have a Toshiba which I really like. Excellent picture quality and
reasonably priced.
We just use it to watch videos and DVDs.

Just bought the 50-inch plasma. Love it. I have it hanging on my wall and
ordered the Hi-Def package from DishNetwork and the HD Receiver. Cool!

Too bad I rarely have the time to watch it.
